There are many local attractions in the area including the birthplace of Scotland's most famous poet, Robert Burns. Born in Burns Cottage, Alloway Ayr in 1759. With a yearly "Burns an' a' that" festival celebrating Scottish life and culture which includes music, poetry and entertainment and is one of the most popular local events.
